Highly recommended- really fun experience and got to try restaurants in my home city that I had never been to before! The puzzles and clues were very fun and informative. Will definitely do this again - brilliant idea, supports independent venues and also great value for money! Loved it, thank you!
Did the southeast Asian escape on Saturday. What a fabulous day we had saw parts of Manchester I didn’t know existed & couldnt believe our stating point was actually Manchester I will definitely be looking up down & around more it’s amazing what you see. Great food at each stop & smashed my steps for the day. If you’re thinking of booking just do it we will be booking again 😍
Had a great time yesterday, really enjoyed the food and solving the clues. Food was great in all the restaurants, was slightly disappointed that two places were based on cuisine from the same country but but was delicious nonetheless. Done three of these now so hoping more routes or cities are made available in future as can’t wait to do more!
So much fun! You’re right there was a lot of food, maybe slightly smaller portions would be better as had to take away at our final stop. First and third restaurants were our fave and enjoyed the quick for rounds. It was challenging in 30 degree but would defo do another food escape.
This Food Escape was a gift for my 50th. The WhatsApp clues and guidance were great. The food was also excellent. Just about managed to fit it all in. Definitely one to start on an empty stomach.
What a great way to spend a few hours in Manchester . The food and venues were superb and the fact we went from one side of Manchester to the other was brilliant .The clues were great and gave an insight into Manchester history that we loved to learn . All the food venues made it simple to be seated and to enjoy their specialities
Something fun and different to do. A great way to experience restaurants and food you wouldn’t necessarily choose. Will definitely go back to the restaurants in future. Clues were good to follow. But beware if you lose signal as they can interpret a resent message as a wrong answer
Was such a lovely way to spend the afternoon! Was so fun not knowing where we were going to eat and also learning more about the city along the way, 100% recommend!
Fab in every way…..
Such a fun afternoon with me and my daughter. Food was great, the challenge was, well…challenging. Maybe we’d have done better/faster without the wine….nevertheless a great experience.
We will be doing the other food challenges in the future.
Well done guys.
All the restaurants were great and very helpful customer service to help us organise at short notice
Great way to spend an afternoon exploring the food scene of Manchester! Would highly recommend!
Excellent day, got to see bits of manchester normally overlooked, learnt things and the food was fantastic.
Will be doing more and will recommend.
Brilliant game. Restaurant’s really good & food. A few clues we got right eg Newton street. But because we wrote street not just Newton, the answer was deemed incorrect. This happened a few times. Our only criticism. Really great idea and loved it. Would do another!
Thanks for the feedback Heather. We always try to make sure every viable version of the answer is included in our accepted answers, though sometimes we miss a few! Feedback like this helps us correct that. I've checked your logs and added in the answer you're talking about for future players as you're right, it should have been deemed correct - my apologies, and also thank you! Good fun and nice food! 2 of the 3 food places were Thai though so more variety would have been good
Hey Dave, glad the food was nice and the game was fun! As I'm sure you tasted yesterday, our priority is delicious food from independently owned restaurants and the 2 Thai places are regionally different with one serving food with Indonesian roots and one more traditionally Thai. However if you know of a any Indonesian, Cambodian, Laotian, Singaporean, Malay, Burmese, Filipino, Timorese or Bruneian restaurants in central Manchester (the only other 2 countries in Southeast Asia being Thailand and Vietnam) - we'd would LOVE to hear about it because from all of those countries, we only know of a single restaurant and it doesn't quite work for what we're doing on Food Escapes!

Really fun evening! Great clues and delicious food.
A great concept and a good way to explore the city but there were a few too many clues and not enough food. Annoyingly the last restaurant on our trail closed earlier than planned and despite arriving in time for last orders they refused to serve us, (chairs were stacked and chef had gone) and we went home hungry. This also made it very poor value for money.
We had a great time seeing the city and eating delicious food! The escape didn’t require any previous knowledge of the city so anyone could enjoy!
We had a great time exploring Manchester from and different perspective and enjoyed some fantastic food! The last spot was 10/10 so make sure you leave some room 🙌🏼
Puzzle was fun but not particularly challenging.
Walk distance was just right. Was walking for about an hour total.
Restaurants were nice. Service was very good at all venues. Food was very nice but nothing exceptional.
Thanks for the comments Ed, Aaron here, founder of food escapes. Really glad you enjoyed the experience (thank you!) but sorry the food wasn't quite up to your standards! Each of the 3 restaurants you ate at on this route is owned/run by people who have immigrated from that respective country in their lives to setup shop in Manchester. I know them all personally from setting up these routes and guarantee every single one would love to hear if there was something in particular you didn't think was exceptional, because they are always looking to improve and adapt to local palettes. Would be happy to share feedback to them it you could send us more info to support@foodescapes.com. Thanks!
Great food, great puzzle.
We all had a great time - great food, places we’ve never been to and will definitely go back to
So much fun, the clues are a good level of challenging but still enjoyable and went to spots never been to before but would definitely go again
Such a fun thing to do. Was a surprise for me so did this with friends. Enjoyed the treasure hunt, the mix of history and facts and the eating!
We’ve had a fab afternoon doing the South East Asia Food Escapes! Really fun and lovely food. Thank you. I’m keen to try another one!
What a fun way to explore Manchester whilst eating at new unique niche places I would never have even known about.
It was fun and delicious
Really good fun
Questions were a good difficulty & food was great
A fun and unusual way to.explore the City. Great food too!
